MRR

Monthly Recurring Revenue

The predictable revenue a subscription business receives each month, counting only recurring payments. One-off fees, setup charges, and consulting are excluded — the point is what recurs without further selling.

EXAMPLE

Forty customers on ₹999 per month and ten on ₹2,999 gives MRR of ₹69,950. A separate ₹40,000 setup fee does not count toward it.

WHY IT MATTERS

It's the clearest single number for a subscription business, because it shows whether the base is growing independent of one-off wins. Watching new, expansion, and churned MRR separately tells you which of the three is actually moving.
